I was hurt-very vulnerable, broken, and confounded. Would I be able to survive and not fall down into a deep pit of desperation and meaningless existence? He was leaving without a reason. He tried to explain but it did not make a difference. Is there ever a right a reason for smashing a heart and cracking it open to bleed? He had stated a decision and walked away, leaving me rooted to deal with the aftermath.
I stood there transfixed. My feet of lead would not move. His words had carved me in stone. And then slowly my tears started flowing, lacerating my wounds. I did not want to create a spectacle in public. So I started walking back; silently crying on my way back to the hotel. I did not know when it happened. A hand solidly clasped my hand and filled the spaces between my fingers. I looked at the face of my best friend. He walked me back like that without saying a word. And I did not die on the way.

Oh my God, Shweta, I can actually visualize the whole thing ... You have excelled yourself this time with the blank verse. Every time you write something new, its unique and so different from the rest of what you've written.
It filled my heart ... muah!
Thx Mahuya:)i m glad u like my attempt!
I'm so sorry, but I didn't quite understand. Is the "best friend" a metaphor?
No D2. It's the best friend literally.

I imagine a world without death, and perhaps where I can easily find answers to life processes, at least in faith I believe God is my best choice.
Hmmm. Gad this best friend came back. Happy stories steal my heart.
The importance of friends. They'll always be there.
This is great. Even in the darkest hour there is always light somewhere.
Awesome. And welcome to the world of prose, finally!! U r very good :).
I like to read poetry and then identify with the story. I like this because I recognize the feeling...
You write very well
